During the 100m individual race event, Mr Muhd Muhsin clocked 12.71 seconds and qualified for the second round. Although he did not make it to the semi-final round, his timing improved to 12.52 seconds. Keep it up!

In the 800m individual race, Mr Soh Boon Sien clocked 2 mins 22.94 seconds, a timing better than his previous record at the Asia Pacific Deaf Games in Taiwan in November 2000. We look forward to seeing him achieve a better result in the next Games!

Ms Erika Levi and Mr Richardo Irsyrad broke their personal best times at this swimming event. Ms Erika Levi went one step further by getting into the B finals of the 100m backstroke (women). She did her best to compete with the world-class Deaf swimmers and this experience has inspired her to work hard for the next Games!

Though the Singapore contingent had no medals, they had a wonderful learning experience at the Deaflympics. The closing ceremony on 1 August 2001 ended with the Deaf officials and participants looking forward to the 15th Deaf World Winter Games 2003 in Sundsvall, Sweden.
